***UPDATE: DALTON VICTORIOUS, DEFEATS HICKS***
DALTON SET TO BECOME CITY'S FIRST FEMALE PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSIONER
Robin Dalton Announces Historic 2019 Candidacy for Public Safety Commissioner of Saratoga Springs
If elected this November, I will become the first female Public Safety Commissioner in the history of Saratoga Springs. I’m committed to a bi-partisan approach to serving on the city council and representing all of the constituents in Saratoga Springs to the best of my ability. For more on my platform, professional background and involvement in our community, check out my video below, and visit the Dalton for Safety page on Facebook and Instagram.
My priority as Public Safety Commissioner will be acting as the strong voice for our police and fire departments at the council table, while working to solve our most challenging safety issues, including:
· Building a third Fire/EMS station to serve the Eastern Plateau;
· A comprehensive approach to helping our homeless population, starting with a permanent location for Code Blue;
· School safety, an ongoing issue that I intend to address by working with our police department, school district and sheriff's department to ensure our children and their teachers are as safe as possible.
· The growing opioid addiction that has ravaged our country. It is now at our doorstep and needs to be addressed before it spreads further into our city.
While every community has safety issues, some very unique, I would be remiss not to stress that ours are relatively minimal, thanks to the tireless dedication of our police and fire departments. I can't imagine a better place to raise a family, and am profoundly grateful for the opportunities I’ve experienced over the last several years. I have received endorsements from the Republican, Independent and Conservative Parties and will be on all three lines on your ballot. So no matter how you vote, it would be my privilege to work on behalf of all Saratogians as your Public Safety Commissioner.
Thank you! I look forward to meeting you – and to your support on Election Day, November 5.
